For actor Minnie Driver, who splits her time between London and California, designing and decorating her spaces is as much about the process as it is the end result. 'I want furniture with a story,' she says, 'I found an incredible piece of burl wood on the beach near where I live and I had it made into a coffee table with a glass top. Whatever people find on the beach, we slip under the glass to nestle in the burlwood - shells, beautiful stones, crystals. It's become an incredible, evolving centrepiece.'
With the recent opening of Jeremy O. Harris' Slave Play in London, the New York-based playwright is used to being away from home. Still, he sees his space as a welcoming place. 'I have books everywhere; on windowsills, on the floor,' he says. 'I don't consider practicality much, except for living room seating. I need a big, comfy couch that I can fall into and fall asleep on.'
Actor Kaya Scodelario, star of Netflix's The Gentleman, spends much of her time travelling, staying in hotels for work. So when she's at home, she wants her space to feel like her own. 'My interior style is very personal,' says Scodelario. 'I like to lean into my Brazilian side, with lots of bold colours and shapes, and I collect unique souvenirs from around the world - my house feels really specific to me.'
Actor Lewis Pullman, star of Lessons In Chemistry, recently moved into a new Los Angeles home. 'I'm a bit of a minimalist. I can't exist in a space that feels cluttered and I don't like any homeware that feels too flashy,' he says. 'Though I do like to keep objects that hold emotional weight. My grandpa gave me a cast iron model of a motorcyclist - it's one of the things I value most.'
