Description

Created using oil, charcoal and conte, this canvas recreates the marks, lines and shapes the artist made in the wet sand of her hometown beach.

One in a series of original landscapes, the title of this collection is taken from a poem by W.B. Yeats. It takes inspiration from the landscape of the artist's childhood, and so "the canvas becomes the beach that served as the canvas of my childhood".

About the artist

Day Bowman often takes inspiration from the coastal landscape of a childhood spent growing up in a "holiday destination seaside town". The recipient of multiple awards, her artworks are a mix of abstract and figurative paintings that experiment with different mediums.
