With the best views of Brighton beach, the unique charm of the British seaside plays a large part in the interior design of Brighton Beach House
Look out for nods to stripey beach huts and sticks of rock in the fabrics, soft furnishings and a set of lamps in reception. These coastal motifs also inspired the pastel pink shade of Brighton Beach House's pool towels, which are laid out on the roof terrace.
Brighton's famous pier influenced design details in the second-floor club, starting with textured walls in a striking blue, a colour developed from its railings. The waved façade of the bar, porthole in the ceiling and artist's murals all reference the sea, which dominates the floor-to-ceiling view.
Our design team picked out Art Deco architectural features from around the city and replicated these in the building's shape and vintage furniture selection around the space. Locations like the city's Grade II-listed Saltdean lido acted as a reference point.
To celebrate the opening of Brighton Beach House, the local Soho House member and creative consultant introduces us to the neighbourhood with a design-led tour of her favourite places
Soho House Senior Designer, Sophie Baker, shares how the city's unique character inspired the design for our first coastal House in the UK, from its Art Deco architecture to local artist David Shrigley's banana-shaped pool
